WE ARE PRINCE EDWARD ISLANDERS!

Tucked away in Eastern Canada, known for our beaches, our food and our friendly welcome – as islanders, we have always combined life on land and life on the sea. A perfect combination for oysters.

The Sweet family has farmed the land and the sea for 4 generations on PEI. The Sweet Oyster team are also all long-term residents. Used to hard outdoor work, oyster farming comes natural to us.

You can find us out on the water most days in rain or sun.

When it gets too icy, there are always oyster crate repairs to get working on.

But in between chores, we can practice our shucking or just settle for a while and enjoy our surroundings.

HOW WE STARTED

In 1854, after 13 trips around the world, the British sailor John Sweet and his family arrived at Prince Edward Island, Canada.

Captivated by its beauty, the Sweet family settled in Cascumpec Bay, and worked the land until they found the perfect area to establish their farm.

This desire to embrace nature and cultivate the best crops has been transmitted to the current generation of Sweets, who are proud to grow premium-quality oysters and help to maintain pristine waterways.

Aaron Sweet, great-grand son of John Sweet, hand selects each oyster to ensure that only the best bear the family name.
